Hello there!

It's time again, for a new release from The Greetery, and this time, it's the Lily & Palm Mini Collection!  If you love the idea of a collection of Easter products that are beautiful and classic, you're gonna love this whole release!  And the best part is, a lot of these new products are versatile enough for use year round!

I can't wait to tell you all about these cards I made!  Shall we dig right in?

So firstly, let me just say that of all the lily varieties, the Stargazer Lily is my favorite!  How have we never planted any of these?!  We have some lovely yellow ones that we've had for years, but I think it's about time that we add some Stargazers to the perennial family!

So when I saw that there is a new BotaniCuts: Lily die set, I immediately knew I wanted to try my hand at creating some Stargazers.  I quickly googled Stargazer Lily, and looked at the first couple of images that popped up, to make sure I knew just how they looked in real life.  They typically have white trim around the petals and they're a bright pink, with a bit of a red or orange-y stripe down each petal.  I also paid close attention to the stamens so I could get those fairly accurate.  I pulled out my Zig markers and a water brush and went to town!!

PRO TIP: Here's the thing to remember if you're intimidated by watercoloring some of your own.....it's WATERCOLOR.  It's totally ok for your flowers to be a LOOSE INTERPRETATION of the real thing!!  Don't get so focused on making them absolutely perfect, and forget that watercolor allows you the ability to make them somewhat abstract or impressionistic rather than completely realistic.  Hopefully that will give some of you a bit of encouragement to just go for it, if you're afraid to try!  Once you start making these, you're gonna have SO much fun!

You'll want to cut all of your pieces out (I used watercolor card stock) and then watercolor all of the pieces.  Once they're dry, you can glue them together to assemble your flowers.

You'll notice I also used some fun palm branches....those are from the new Caring Cross stamp set.

I paired my bright and cheery flowers with the new Gatherings Kit: Easter Jubilee products!  It's a mini kit of sorts, with some dies, stencils and stamps, all designed to be used together.  I pulled out those cute Easter letters, and added the "Happy" stamp from the stamp set from the kit.

Now, if those bright Stargazers are just too intimidating to start out with, make yourself some of these!!!  Equally as beautiful, but a lot faster and easier to make!  I die cut them, again from watercolor card stock, and then just added some limey-chartreuse on the bits of the petals that would create the center of the flower.  (Again, a quick google search will give you tons of inspiration for what lilies look like in real life.  There are so many different varieties!!)

I added a bit of color just to the tips of the stamens that that was it.  A lot of the flower here, has no color on it at all!  Easy peasy!

I paired them with the cross image from Caring Cross, as well as a few more of those palms. There is a companion stencil that allows you to stencil the cross if you'd like, which is what I did, and then I used stamps from the set to add the palm branches and flowers around the cross.

On the background, you'll notice I added a bit of yellow with the Windowpane Plaid stamp, and the "He is Risen" sentiment is from Caring Cross.  When you put all of it together, it makes such a lovely Easter card....timeless and also a little bit modern all at the same time.

Lastly for today, I used the Easter Jubilee Gatherings Kit again, to create this cheery little number!  This is a REEEEALLY easy kit to use because it's been designed so that all of the elements in the kit come together to really kind of do the work for you!  I started out with the stencils.  There are three.....so I blended on the yellow ink first, with a blending brush.  Then, the green leaves stencil, and then the pink flowers stencil.  THEN, you go back in with the companion stamps, to add the detail on the leaves and flowers.  So easy!

Then, I die cut those fun Easter letters again, and popped them right on the yellow stenciled section....this makes placement super simple!

The last thing to do, was cut out that sweet little banner (I blended ink on some white card stock first, and then die cut the banner.)  I stamped the "Greetings" from the set.....there are several for you to choose from!

This card is a really quick one to make, but no one has to know it was super simple!  Ha!

Goodness, I love these flowers!!  I totally want to make some more!

PRO TIP: Die cut all your pieces and sit and have a watercolor session in front of the TV while hanging with your family one day!  Then, when you're ready to create, you'll have a lovely pile of flowers or flower parts ready and waiting to pile on some cards!

You're for sure gonna want to hop around to see what the other girls on the team have created!!
