Hi Friends!! Welcome back for another day of Spring Market reveals! Are you so excited about this new release at The Greetery?! And the giveaways? And the new Rewards Program? So much fun this month!
How sweet is this first card?? I made a card for my Mom for Mother's Day, and I knew I wanted to incorporate her favorite color - blue - but of course, I wanted to do it in an interesting and unique way. This is what I came up with! Let me tell you about it!
I used the new Holding Hands stamp set to create the hand and the PRETTIEST sleeve detail, as well as the flower bundle in her hands.
PRO TIP: Let's say you only have one ink pad in a color that you really want to use, but you're wishing you had more shades of that color to give your stamped images lots of depth. Don't forget that you can stamp that ink off on scratch paper, before stamping on your card elements, to give you some more shades of that same color. You can even take a brighter/darker color such as this cobalt blue, and stamp off once, then stamp on your card, ink up again, and repeat. The same ink stamped off and then on your card element twice, will create yet another shade of the color, different than if you inked and stamped it once at full strength! If you've got a single ink pad, you have lots of different options for what you can do with it, to achieve depth and interest on your card!!
I also used the new Holding Hands set, to create the little envelope and envelope liner (I cut that from glitter card stock - how fun?!!). I used a little sentiment stamp from the new Market Basket Sentiments set, to stamp the little "love you" on a scrap of card stock, and the "for you, Mom" at the bottom is from Holding Hands.
I also used the new Fond of Foliage background stamp, to create that lush vintage-feeling background! It doesn't stamp that way automatically, though!
PRO TIP: For a vintage look, ink the background stamp and stamp it off once on scratch paper, before stamping it on your card stock. Stamp it lightly, not being too thorough to get it all rubbed in, and the result is this almost vintage wallpaper vibe. I LOVE IT!!

Next up, is a card featuring the new BotaniCuts Tulips dies, as well as the new Market Basket Dies and Sentiment stamp set.
I used BotaniCuts Tulips to create the tulips and even used a gold pen to add a bit of shimmer to the tips of the stamens.
You'll notice more Fond of Foliage Background here, this time just stamped with an embossing ink pad on the kraft card stock. You can literally use embossing ink with this stamp on ANY color of card stock you have, to create the prettiest -- and quickest -- backgrounds!
I did the same "vintage wallpaper" trick with Fond of Foliage on some aqua card stock and some green ink, to create the basket liner. Once I'd stamped the background, I die cut the basket liner pieces from it.
We have some actual vintage metal baskets that I think came from a freezer decades ago, and I love their coloring and their aged patina so much, that I decided to recreate that same look here, on my Market Basket! After die cutting the pieces from teal card stock, I dragged them across a "Rusty" ink pad, to give them some "age".
I did the same on the little label from the set and then stamped one of the companion sentiments on the label.

Next up, more Fond of Foliage background.....again, this one just stamped with an embossing ink pad. So simple, but SO striking on that blue background!
I used the new Flower Market Bouquet stamps and dies, to create that lush tulip bouquet -- so simple with a few different ink colors!
PRO TIP: Remember to save your little bits of die cuts to use in other spots! See the little banner bits up in the corner? Those were cut off of some banners you'll see on a card tomorrow! But they were laying there on my desk, and were the perfect little addition to dress up the corner of this card! Don't toss cute little details!
PRO TIP: Here's another ink tip for you.....I wanted to use the Cobalt ink to coordinate with the Cobalt card stock, but I didn't want the blue flowers to be so dark. So again, just by stamping that blue ink off first before stamping on my die cut here, I was able to get a lighter blue that was still the perfect compliment to the card stock, because it came from the exact coordinating ink. And an added benefit, is that it tends to stamp slightly uneven the second time around, which takes on the look of shading or ink blending on those sweet little blue flowers!
