Hi Friends!  It's my turn to share for TGIF at The Greetery and I was pretty excited about this one!

If you've been following along with me at Christmas time for very long, then you may have seen my mini vintage ornament boxes that I love to pull out and decorate with every year!  See the photo above!  So I was excited to play with the new Ornament Box goodies, to create some paper versions of my vintage treasures!

I created two different cards, one a bit more basic and the other I stepped up a bit.

For the first, I kept it simple inside the box and just used the same ornament dies and added several of them, since that's how a lot of ornaments come in real life.....multiples of the same type of ornament, in one box.

PRO TIP: Choose three or four colors for your ornaments, and die cut multiples of the same ornament from each of the colors in your chosen palette.  Then, you can easily just mix and match all of the elements and even though your ornaments won't all be the same, they'll all be color coordinated.  But, by using all of the same ornament die cuts, your box will have a realistic bit of uniformity.....just like when we buy ornaments by the box at the store!

I used silver card stock, to give them a bit of shine, but kept the ornament colors all the same. I finished it with some sparkly pine branches and gems to
serve as berries.

PRO TIP: Don't be afraid to tuck some pine sprigs or berries in here or there, allowing them to layer over the ornaments a bit.  The layering makes it more interesting and gives the "box" some depth!  Also, notice that the little holly at the top is positioned so that it's nearly opposite of the big cluster of branches and holly at the bottom.  This helps give some balance.

I have to laugh at this stepped up card, because if I ever saw a box of vintage ornaments stuffed this full of beauties, I'd buy it in a heartbeat!  LOL!

I used sparkly card stock to add lots of shiny details to the ornaments, including the silver toppers which looks so darn cute in real life!  I also added the Curio Divider die cut behind all the ornaments, to give a bit of added interest.  Pine branches and some popped up details on the actual box front finished things off!

PRO TIP: Don't feel like you have to only have ornaments tucked neatly inside each of the Curio Dividers!  Think of this "box" as more like the ones you've had for years and at this point, you just stuff the ornaments in however they'll fit, so you can finish packing everything away after Christmas!!  Hahahaaa!  Oh wait, that's just me???  :)

Hope I've inspired you to get busy making some ornaments for cards or tags!  They're so fun and really, if you just sit down and make a pile of them, they're pretty mindless and relaxing!  Enjoy!
